Earlier known as the Subordinate Services Commission, Staff Selection Commission is an organization which recruits candidates for various Indian government departments and for its subordinate offices. In India, SSC provides more than 75% government jobs. The SSC headquarters is located at New Delhi and seven Regional Offices are in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Allahabad, Guwahati, Bangalore, Kolkata. In addition, two sub-regional offices are at Raipur and Chandigarh. The Regional and Sub-Regional Offices are established for conducting exams smoothly.
The topmost function of the SSC is to conduct examinations and interviews for the recruitment under Group “B”, non-technical Group “C” and Group “D” posts for various Indian Government Ministries and Departments. The SSC is not responsible for recruitment for states, but it assists central govt. SSC CGL Exam:- SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for filling up Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts such as Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Inspector, Accountant, Auditor and many others in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Govt. of India.
SSC CHSL Exam:- SSC conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam for the recruitment to the posts of Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretarial Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, Data Entry Operator and Data Entry Operator Grade A in Government Departments.
SSC Steno Exam:- SSC conducts Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’)Exam for the recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade’C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted) in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government.
SSC JE Exam:- SSC conducts Junior Engineer Exam for the recruitment of Junior Engineers, Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts in Government Organizations.
SSC GD-Constable Exam:- SSC Conducts Constables (GD) and Rifleman (GD) Exam for recruitment to the posts of Constable in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles.
SSC MTS Exam:- SSC conducts Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam for the recruitment to the posts of Multi Tasking Staff, a Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices in different States and Union Territories.

All desirous candidates can apply for the SSC Examination by the SSC Online Portal. Before applying, candidates must ensure their eligibility and follow the instructions carefully. After ensuring eligibility, candidates should fill the Registration Form. Once the registration is done, candidates will be provided a registration id and password on their given email ids and mobile numbers. After submission of the Registration Form, they will be required to upload a scanned photograph and signature as per the specifications are given in the respective advertisement. After that, candidates should fill the SSC Online Application Form. After filling out an online application, application fees also need to be paid online. Using that registration id and password, candidates can download admit cards for the exam as well as for the skill test/ typing test. The SSC Exams are conducted generally into 2-3 Tiers depending on the nature of the exam. The Computer-Based Exam can be both objective and descriptive in nature. For some posts, Skill Test/ Computer Proficiency Test/ Typing Test/ Physical Efficiency Test is also conducted. The merit list of the selected candidates is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in all the Tiers.
After the written examination, SSC releases answer keys for the exam. You can check Answer Keys on our SSC Answer Keys Page as soon as it is released.
Candidates can check their results at SSC Results page using the registration id and password they have assigned at the time of online application.
